I saw the pain in her eyes, and all I wanted to do was wrap her in my arms and keep her safe.

We all know the common childhood version of Beauty and the Beast - where Belle saves the Beast (also known as Prince Adam) with true love's kiss - but what comes next? We assume that the prince and princess live happily ever after… but is that truly the case?

Filled with hidden loyalties, magic, and strength, Beauty’s Revenge gives readers a look into what Belle’s happily ever after - or rather, not-so happily ever after - really looked like. Despite no longer holding the physical form of a beast, Prince Adam’s personality can be best describe
d as beast-like and “gifting” Belle a library isn’t going to remedy anything. If Belle can escape, will she be able to heal and reclaim her identity and her power?

What I really enjoyed about this novella was how true to Belle’s character they stayed. Her love for books and her kindness never wavered, despite the trauma she endured. Additionally, the author’s message of healing and accepting help from others really resonated with me. The way this was displayed was not just through Belle, but through multiple characters in their own way, made this message even more impactful.

What kept Beauty’s Revenge from being a 5-star read for me was the length of the story. Yes, this is a novella; however, I wanted more from the story. I wanted to connect a little deeper with each character through more imagery, more insight into the characters, and more space to watch them grow into their own and their mating bonds.

With that said, this is still definitely a read I would recommend to anyone who is a fan of fairy tales, retellings, and reimagining. Beauty’s Revenge is definitely not one for fans to miss!
