"And tonight?"
...
"The house could burn, and I wouldn't stop looking at you."

Now this was a breath of fresh air in the romance genre that I didn’t know I needed! I am not exaggerating when I say I sacrificed sleep (and may or may not have neglected my responsibilities as an adult) to devour this book.

My emotional investment in this read was fantastic - feeling the feels with each character, and ready to be the ultimate hype/support woman (to rage or celebrate, it didn’t matter; I was game). Especially when you open a book with an incredibly funny line like: “Once upon a time, I definitely knew how to masturbate.” How could you not be invested in seeing where this is all going!?

As a disclaimer, I am usually a little skeptical when it comes to the accidental pregnancy trope, as I find it either lands well or not so much. Thankfully, I feel Cleo White nailed this trope (and that’s coming from a trope skeptic!). Nothing felt forced or cringy when this was brought up at any point, from any characters.

Spice aside (even though you definitely don’t want to miss out - the spice was so good!), there was more for readers to devour in the banter, and the relatability the characters held throughout the book. Even better, the growth and groveling we see in our second-chance romance was sincere - not rushed or forced.

The only reason this wasn’t a five-star read for me is that the ending left me with some unanswered questions. Then again, could this mean there is more to come from this royally forbidden romance?

All in all, Coronation will be at the top of my list when recommending romance novels for the foreseeable future. You won't want to miss out on this royally forbidden romance!!
